Considering genes of separate colourations we will not describe genetics of solid colourations and will start immediately with describing specific serie of albino alleles C.
Despite of the fact this locus has about 4 alleles, we are interested only in two - they are С and cs, as possibility to meet another alleles in british genotype is very small. Allele С
ensures normal synthesis of pigments (colour distribution over the coat respectively) and is dominant over cs. Cs in its turn is a cause of acromelanism when only limbs are coloured and coat becames brighter.
Cs is inherited independently of main colouration gene and tabby genes. If genotype is homozygous cscs cats with acromelanism will also inherit heterochromia (discoloration) of iris stroma, which causes blue eyes colour.
Homozygosity of this allele is necessary condition for phenotypic manifestation of "siamese" colouration scheme.
Summing, we can say:
- colour-point cats can be only cscs by genotype
- pets with Ccs genotype will be colour-point gene carriers and their offsprings can be colour-points only if mating was between the carrier of the same Сcs genotype or with cscs genotype carrier
- pet with homozygosity on CC allele can not give colour-pointed offsprings
